The team behind Cafe Erzulie is helming the new venue, which opened January 24th.

The team behind Brooklyn’s Cafe Erzulie—a dweller staple—has opened a new listening bar across the street: Damballa.

Officially opened on January 24th, Damballa takes its name from one of the most powerful Loa spirits in Haitian voodoo traditions, considered “the primordial creator of all life.” Located at 895 Broadway Ave., the venue’s programming will span vinyl-only nights, reggae showcases and more. Damballa also serves natural wine, cocktails and a selection of small plates.

Dee Diggs, Ayanna Heaven, Sii Sii, and Quiana Parks are among the DJs confirmed to play the venue in the coming weeks. Damballa’s bespoke sound system was designed by Quebec’s Automatic Sound.
