Brooklyn club Paragon will host the free event on April 11th.
A new nightlife conference, Beyond the Dancefloor, is coming to New York City.
Taking over Brooklyn club Paragon on Saturday, April 11th, it consists of three panel discussions. The free event is described as a “public convening on sustainability, power and accountability” in local nightlife, according to nonprofit organizer Beyond Booking, which hosts the programme alongside The Bunker.
The first conversation, “Transparency & Power in Nightlife Economics,” features The Bunker’s Michelle Erfer, Lychee and Paragon founder John Barclay.
“Autonomy versus Access: Structuring Cultural Work” includes Michael Falco-Felderman from the Queer Nightlife Community Center (QNCC) and Rafaela P. Varela of Brooklyn Legal Services.
“Beyond the Call-Out: Conflict, Harm & Resolution in Nightlife,” the final conversation, has S’aint Panic and lawyer Andy Izenson as guest speakers.
Rose Kourts will moderate two of the panels.
Beyond the Dancefloor is funded by the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs.
Last year, the city’s Office of Nightlife also awarded The Bunker with a $30,000 grant. Find more info via Instagram and the listing below.
