Denon DJ has launched the PRIME 4 G2, a four-channel, four-deck standalone DJ system.
The successor to the original PRIME 4 introduces 16 velocity- and pressure-sensitive MPCe performance pads, which use 3D sensing to combine Hot Cues, Stems, Rolls, FX and lighting controls. Denon DJ describes the system as the first standalone DJ unit to feature multi-zone performance pads.
The PRIME 4 G2 also offers onboard Stems rendering, allowing DJs to isolate and manipulate individual elements of tracks directly from the hardware. Its lighting system includes a built-in three-pin DMX output powered by SoundSwitch, removing the need for external DMX hardware.
Other features include 8-inch jog wheels with LED displays, a 10.1-inch HD touchscreen, an eight-core ARM processor and 4GB of RAM. The unit supports music streaming via Wi-Fi, with access to services including Beatport, SoundCloud Go+, TIDAL, Apple Music and Amazon Music Unlimited.
The PRIME 4 G2 is available from today, September 1st, for $2,599, €2,699.99 or £2,299.99 through authorised Denon DJ dealers and selected music retailers.
