A free mobile app wants to help you practice beatmatching by ear.
Described as a “game and training tool for DJs”, Beatmatch PRO challenges users to match the tempos of two tracks by ear as accurately as possible, with each attempt scored out of 100%.
The app centres around a daily challenge mode, where all users receive the same pairing of tracks each day, alongside a free practice mode for unlimited training. Here, players can filter tracks by tags including genre, region and format (such as edits or instrumentals).
Users can track their progress and compare scores on leaderboards, with one App Store reviewer likening the app to “Wordle for DJing”.
According to developer Thomas Geoffrey Hobbs, the aim is to make beatmatching practice more accessible for beginners without access to expensive DJ equipment.
“I’m looking to keep the game free, fun and ever-changing,” he shared in the app’s About section. “If you’d like your music featured or want to discuss a collaboration, please get in touch via the Beatmatch PRO Instagram, or send an email to Be***********@***il.com).”

Earlier this year, another app, Dancefloor launched on iOS and Android, offering users a way to discover DJs and club nights in their area.
Other recent app releases include lazyrecords, an algorithm-free music discovery platform, and Dig This, a similar tool launched in 2025 by DJ and producer Doris Saturday.
