Established DJs, producers, artist collectives and more can apply for grants between £10,000 and £20,000

Arts Council England is launching a new fund to support musicians in developing their careers. 

According to the funding body, the Music Creators Growth Fund is aimed at “artists, artist collectives, bands, composers, DJs, groups, producers and songwriters” who have a strong track record across the last three years.

The fund will offer “direct investment” between £10,000 and £20,000 to help established music creators in pursuing new opportunities and undertake “ambitious creative plans” in their careers.

The Music Creators Growth Fund is the last of three new funding schemes introduced by Arts Council England, funded by the UK government’s £45 million Music Growth Package which was announced in July.

It joins the Music Growth Fund, which is aimed at festivals, record labels, recording studios and grassroots music venues, and the Sector Bodies Programme, launched to support not-for-profit projects in the music sector. 

“Through our work to develop the Music Growth Package, we’ve heard about the vital role played by direct access to investment. Insights shared by the people who bring new, original music to audiences around the globe confirmed our belief that we could do more to realise the full potential of the UK’s talented creators,” says Arts Council England’s Director of Music Claire Mera-Nelson. 

“We look forward to receiving applications from artists and music creators across the country, working in every genre, and investing in sounds and voices that reflect the diversity of the UK’s communities.”
