The transaction to acquire NI is expected to be completed in the coming weeks. Business will continue as usual for NI Products, services, platforms, and its customer support line.
“Our commitment is simple: continued investment across all brands and product lines, and a long-term focus on innovation that serves creators at every level. The tools you rely on today will keep working, and the tools you will rely on tomorrow are actively being built,” inMusic CEO Jack O’Donnell said in a statement.
Williams described the acquisition as “a new chapter with a strong partner who has spent just as long dedicated to this industry.”

NI has been looking for a buyer since announcing formal insolvency in March. The Berlin-founded German company, part of the Soundwide group alongside Plugin Alliance and Brainworx since 2022, entered preliminary insolvency in January.
In 2020, NI’s co-founder and then CEO Daniel Haver and chief innovation officer and President Mate Galic quit their leadership roles. Since 2021, NI has been majority-owned by US investment firm Francisco Partners.
