All of us at My House Radio FM are deeply saddened to hear of the untimely passing of Ron Carroll. We want to send our sincere and heartfelt condolences to his loved ones. RIP to a house music legend!!

Ron Carroll aka The Minister Of Sound has been moving dancefloors for decades, and his newest uplifting House single “Lost” proves he’s nowhere near slowing down. Electro Wow caught up with the legendary DJ, producer, and singer to talk about this release, spiritual frequencies, remixes, creative freedom, and his surprising next venture beyond music.

1. People call you a House legend. Does that pressure mess with your head when you’re making new stuff?

Being called a legend is a true honor. It does not pressure me; it actually creates an affirmation that what I’m doing, or have done, has touched people’s lives. So I’m grateful for that.

2. Can House music feel uplifting/spiritual and serve a purpose through its lyrics?

House music is supposed to be a spiritual moment. Of course, it has been commercialized for financial purposes, as in every creation, but the true purpose is to bring joy and love.

3. Is this the case with your new single “Lost”?

“Lost” is about the sound of House, and how the frequency can overtake your mind and body, and you can become lost.

4. Was there a specific moment or experience that made you think, “I need to put this into music”?

By being a part of House culture since its early beginnings, I have learned so much about how to take my life, or others’ lives, into lyrical perspective. It’s what makes me tick as a writer and producer.

5. While making this track, did anything you tried in the studio turn out better than you expected?

It’s always a process of trial and error. A lot of ideas are changed and swapped out until the connection is there for the final product.

6. For you, is there really a difference between music for the club and for the soul?

Many songs are created to create a dance floor energy. Then you have those ones made from the soul, to touch the soul. It’s a great combination.

7. When a remix makes people go crazy on the dancefloor, what element usually does that – the drums, the breakdown, the way they treated your vocals?

Remixes are an extension of thought. It’s an amazing gift to create, from a creation, and make an extended vibe that carries the project even further. So! It can be any of those elements used to make the magic continue.

8. Did Kardano, Rux, and Soleil Carrillo have full creative freedom, or were there elements of the original you preferred to keep unchanged?

When working with other minds, it’s important for them to have full freedom of their interpretation. It gives them that time to express themselves. It also helps with more people supporting the project.

9. Outside of music, what are you most proud of in your life?

I’m proud of my spiritual ascension. It keeps everything around me in divine order.

10. What’s next for Ron Carroll, the person, not just the artist?

Restaurant owner. Let’s Gooooo!!
